Croeso, welcome to Dosbarth Fflamgoch. Mrs Jordan and Mrs McKay are the year 5/6 class teachers. We work closely with Mr Sprague and Dosbarth Fioled. Mrs Lawry and Mrs Davies also help our class.

This term, our inquiry is called 'When medicine fails...?' The history of medicine is our focus from as early as neolithic times to modern medicine practice. We're also looking at when medicine doesn't work, what do we do next? We will introduce the children to alternative therapies like cold water therapy, chiropracting, aromatherapy etc...

Our class novel this term is 'Wonder' by R.J.Palacio. We are using the book in our literacy sessions to explore themes such as celebrating difference, identity, bullying and friendship. We have also used the film to compare and contrast characters and settings to their experience of reading to the book.

Class Information

Homework is sent out each Friday along with spelling words to learn. We have a spelling test on a Friday. Homework needs to be returned to school by Wednesday. Reading Records should be brought in on a Thursday.

Year 5 and 6 need to wear school P.E. kit on a Thursday (white polo, school jumper/cardigan) when they work with Sporting Marvels.

Swimming is every Friday. Your child will need bathers, goggles and towel.
