Here is our Reading Rocks Team for 2024-25:

We have been elected to promote reading for pleasure in our school which will help to improve reading skills. We are so lucky to have our very own outdoor library which we have helped to set up and improve. One of our jobs is to keep this area tidy and organised, helping children to select book to read at breaktimes which we have a rota for.

📚 World Book Day 📚

We had a wonderful day celebrating world book day. The reading council started off the day preparing and delivering an assembly for whole school. They worked together to come up with competitions for all of the children to take part in and promoted a love of reading throughout the school!

Past work we have done - 

Treorchy’s Phone Box Library 

We worked with Natasha from 'Reading Rhondda' to fill a phone box in Treorchy with books for the community to enjoy. We loved seeing the transformation of this box which Charles III visited before he became King on his visit to our town.

Welsh Government Books 

We helped to unpack, sort and give children the choice of their free book. We also gave out bookmarks and postcards. Mrs McKay was very glad of our help with this!
